1972-The Erie Canal Soda Pop Festival Festival Concert Handbill Ticket Order Form-FIRST PAE APPEARANCE! PAE Graded Excellent '79'

This is the FIRST TIME we have offered this vintage original handbill ticket order form in our auction! The Erie Canal Soda Pop Festival was originally slated for Chandler Indiana on September 2-4 1972. However various court battles stopped the festival from performance anywhere in Indiana. Shortly before the the concert the promoters decided to move the festival to Posey County referred to locally as "Bull Island". The new location was right on the boarder but technically in the state of Illinois so the courts could do nothing to stop the festival from happening.

Promoters severely under-estimated how many people would attend and the crowd was overwhelming which caused many problems. Very few of the bands who were advertised actually played. The scheduled lineup (listed in full on this handbill) included The Doors Faces Black Sabbath Joe Cocker the Allman Brothers Band John Mayall Cheech & Chong Canned Heat Fleetwood Mac and many more however the Doors  Faces Black Sabbath Joe Cocker the Allman Brothers Band the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac (among others) did not perform. Food and water were in short supply because of the over-crowded event. On the last day the audience burned the stage. This original handbill has no restoration whatsoever.
