Presenting for the first time in our auction we have a LARGE Frank Zappa original poster produced for a run of shows he performed with the Mothers as their 10th anniversary concerts held at the historic Circle Star Theatre in San Carlos California during July 1974. This poster was factory folded in sixths when originally distributed for promotion and exhibits some of the greatest graphics one could hope for in a Zappa poster!
The Circle Star Theatre was set up like a dinner theater when it first opened in the early 1960’s and was noted for being a “theater in the round” featuring a rotating circular stage with none of its seats further than 50 feet from the stage. Material from this classic venue is highly sought after and has brought record setting prices in our auction over the years.
During the bulk of 1974 Frank Zappa achieved one of the most celebrated live incarnations of his band the Mothers. Their live shows featured an array of highly challenging instrumentals such as "Echidna's Arf " "Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?" and the opening theme of "Be-Bop Tango". This poster will be shipped folded as it was originally distributed in 1974..
