This is the first edition of the legendary VERY difficult to find Grateful Dead history book from 1973. Our research has indicated the first edition was printed twice in 1973 this example here being the latter. We believe it is however the first edition of this early release Dead book. (The latter editions exhibit a copyright year of 1985 and subsequent printings have different cover full-color art produced by Mouse). This lot includes the originally record of Neal Cassady rapping at the Straight Theater. These books show up but rarely do the book with the record.
