Modern artist Mike King designed this poster featuring Mudhoney at the legendary La Luna in Portland during summer of 1995. The groups early material on Sub Pop records were massively influential on the Seattle northwest Grunge music scene. Clawhammer and the Zeros opened at this show in Portland. This is the first time we’ve offered this Original Poster in our auction! It was produced for hanging on telephone poles record store windows ticket agencies and coffee houses around town.
Material from the pacific northwest is always considered special by collectors. They often tell a story all their own and have a different vibe than pieces from other parts of the country. It’s hard to believe this poster is 25 years old. “Telephone pole flyers” like this are highly collectible and are notably representative of the music loving culture that produced them.
