Country Joe McDonald was an ubiquitous Bay Area songwriter in the 1960’s. He played frequently in Berkeley and this performance was at the historic Berkeley Community Theatre on November 5th 1971. The "live in concert" blue strip is pasted onto the poster from when this piece was produced to promote the show!
We have been talking to a lot of collectors recently that are snapping up vintage posters like this - as they are seen as incredibly cheap bargains. You get a well-known San Francisco band from the early 1970’s for a fraction of what you pay for the same type of poster from the Fillmore West. How many can there be in decent shape?
