This lot is amongst the very FIRST posters from the Ultrasounds Collection to be CGC authenticated and graded. As such it’s unique and historically important provenance has been specially designated on the CGC label.
The net proceeds of this lot will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Together we CAN end hunger. Based in North Carolina since 1981 the non-profit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina annually distributes over 70 million pounds of food and household items throughout their 24 county service region. This is an original concert poster promoting the Aladdin Blues Extravaganza held at the Aladdin Theater in Portland on October 24th 1987. The event featured The Fabulous Thunderbirds The Elvin Bishop Band and a Muddy Waters Tribute band with an all-star lineup. These posters were produced in tiny quantities for small venues on very short notice. There were no official Reprints of these posters! We definitively know from printing records and first hand accounts by artist Mike King that these posters were issued in quantities of 25 – 750 with the most common print runs being just 175 250 or 350! This example is super clean and pinhole free!
