This poster is from the legendary Ultrasounds Collection the most extensive and finest quality collection of concert posters from this era. This lot is amongst the very FIRST posters from the Ultrasounds Collection to be CGC authenticated and graded. As such it’s unique and historically important provenance has been specially designated on the CGC label.
The net proceeds of this lot will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Together we CAN end hunger. Based in North Carolina since 1981 the non-profit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina annually distributes over 70 million pounds of food and household items throughout their 24 county service region. The Scottish post-punk indie band Franz Ferdinand made waves in 2004 with their debut single and first full album. The group is featured on this original poster for a run of shows a year later at the Paramount in Seattle and the Roseland Theater in Portland. TV on the Radio and Cut Copy were in support. Unlike many of the most popular and sought after concert posters from the 1960’s and 1970’s there were no official Reprints of these Mike King designed posters that are still readily available in big quantities today. This means collectors are forced to chase down the few surviving Original First Printings. Many collectors believe that posters graded 8.5 by CGC represent the best value in the marketplace today.
