This poster is from the legendary Ultrasounds Collection the most extensive and finest quality collection of concert posters from this era. This lot is amongst the very FIRST posters from the Ultrasounds Collection to be CGC authenticated and graded. As such it’s unique and historically important provenance has been specially designated on the CGC label.
The net proceeds of this lot will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Together we CAN end hunger. Based in North Carolina since 1981 the non-profit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina annually distributes over 70 million pounds of food and household items throughout their 24 county service region. The late great co-founder of The Clash Joe Strummer is showcased on this original poster from late 2002. Strummer formed his backing band The Mescaleros in 1999 and released 3 roots-reggae-rock seasoned albums to high acclaim. The legend died of an un-diagnosed congenital heart defect less than two months after these shows in Seattle and Portland. This original poster was designed by artist Mike King. Unlike many of the most popular and sought after concert posters from the 1960’s and 1970’s there were no official Reprints of these King posters that are still readily available in big quantities today. This means collectors are forced to chase down the few surviving Original First Printings like this one here!
