The New Riders of the Purple Sage were a Bay Area country rock band that started as a side project for Jerry Garcia. They got their start as an opening act for the Grateful Dead. The band was comprised of Jerry’s lifelong friend David Nelson and John (Marmaduke) Dawson. This poster has the Riders head lining with Boz Skaggs in support.
