This scarce original handbill features jazz legend Hugh Masekela appearing at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The iconic and late great Peter Fonda was also on the bill. Often referred to as "The Father of South African Jazz" Hugh Masekela was a genius composer as well as a talented trumpet trombone and flugelhorn player. During his long successful career he was nominated for a Grammy Award three times. This early handbill is from the same era his pop jazz hit “Up Up and Away” was released.
