Wow! Talk about holding history in your hands!

In the early 1970's Rolling Stone Magazine went deep into their archives and collected Original First Printings of the FIRST 15 issues of the magazine. The FIRST 15 issues were then hardbound into one incredible volume. For collectors of vintage 1960's concert posters this lot holds extra special significance as Rolling Stone Magazine was launched in San Francisco in 1967 by Jann Wenner and music critic Ralph J. Gleason with the masthead of the magazine designed by the great Rick Griffin!

Long time friends and clients of Psychedelic Art Exchange are well versed in our opinion that there is no more important number in collectibles than "Number 1". The first of ANY collectible is always the most sought after the most historically important and often amongst the most valuable.

First Editions of printed matter is no exception. Just a handful of these hardbound collections of the first 15 Rolling Stone Magazines have surfaced over the past two decades trading for up to $5 000+. Volume One by itself commands $1 000 - $2 000 if one can be found.

Reviewing the cover stories of the first 15 issues is like entering a time capsule of vintage '60's Rock and Roll and San Francisco counter culture history:

The complete issues included in this hardbound book are:

Issue One 11/09/67 John Lennon

Issue Two 11/23/67 Tina Turner and Bob Dylan

Issue Three 12/14/67 Beatles Magical Mystery Tour

Issue Four 1/20/68 Otis Redding/Jimi Hendrix/Donovan

Issue Five 2/10/68 Pigpen/Beatles/Doors

Issue Six 2/24/68 Janis/Monterey Pop/Dylan

Issue Fourteen 7/20/68 Cream/Stones/Zappa

Issue Fifteen 8/10/68 Stones “comeback album” Beggars Banquet

In addition to the stories the advertisements letters to the Editor and everything else is supremely interesting.

The Volume is in excellent condition with just a corner bump or two on the outside that in no way effects the condition of the magazines within. The magazines themselves are 100% complete and in excellent condition. The magazines do exhibit light toning as would be expected on 53 year old newspaper.

This represents a very special opportunity to acquire a very important piece of 1960's counter culture history!
