This is an original Grateful Dead Productions Official BUSINESS LICENSE from 1992! Issued by the office of the City Treasurer this business license was produced and issued to Laurence Shurtliff for the office of Grateful Dead Productions in San Rafael California.
Shurtliff (Ram Rod) was a longtime friend and roadie for the group from the early days. He later became President of Grateful Dead Productions Inc. from 1976 (the year that the band officially incorporated) until the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995 when the Dead stopped playing shows under that name. Issued on March 12th 1992 and expired at the end of the year this license was required to be posted and displayed near the inside front door of the productions office! The office was located at 1016 Lincoln Ave San Rafael CA 94901.
