Another FIRST APPEARANCE POSTER in our auction! Yes we've offered a handbill of this event previously but this is the first original poster of this issue we've ever auctioned! This poster advertised an event dubbed the Freak Out that took place in LA at the Shrine in September of ’66 just months after the release of The Mothers of Invention’s inaugural album “Freak Out”!
Freak Out was released on June 27 1966 and introduced the world to the genius of Frank Zappa. The recording was a view of modern culture and the LA youth scene through the lens of Zappa. From the beginning of his career Frank Zappa produced some of the most complex humorous and stunning music ever created. Collectors of Zappa's early material are a special breed and many study our auctions looking for opportunities like this one here. We expect exciting bids over this rare and difficult to find lot!
