We are pleased to present the FIRST example of this extremely difficult to find original poster to ever appear in our auction. The Byrds headlined this show at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in spring 1967. Handbills with this design (without the colors) surface from time to time but this is the first POSTER we've ever offered with this COLORFUL artwork!
The Byrds were true innovators and provided the breeding ground for 1960's Folk Rock / Country Rock luminaries such as David Crosby Roger McGuinn and later - Gram Parsons and Clarence White. This is the early incarnation of the group and this image exhibits great caricatures of the individual band members in the design. The issue is one of a set of posters for various bands produced by Sparta Graphics and Dave Schiller during that era - originally part of the San Jose State University Student's Spartan Advertising Club. A scarce find from years past!
