This poster has been trimmed along the bottom edge removing the ticket info / line up info. The 1968 Newport Pop Festival was one of the earliest large-scale festivals. Held at the Orange County Fairgrounds the attendance was estimated at 140 000. The Grateful Dead played on Sunday August 4th. The full lineup of performers for the festival included Jefferson Airplane Sonny & Cher The Byrds Tiny Tim Country Joe & the Fish Eric Burdon and the Animals and more.
