The Seeds got their start in Los Angeles during the mid-sixties and blossomed during the psychedelic era a couple years later. They were renowned for their proto-punk garage rock sound. The Seeds have been among the most frequently cited pre-punk influences by musicians since the 1960’s. Cover versions of various Seeds songs have been performed live by The Ramones and The Smashing Pumpkins.
