Lovely art from the pen of the late great Bonnie MacLean featuring Janis Joplin & Big Brother at the Fillmore. Read about the life of Bonnie MacLean here. This is an ultra scarce "mailer" copy of the card which has been mechanically addressed and mailed prior to the concert date and thus is far more rare than the unaddressed postcards for this event. Original first printings such as this postcard with beautiful graphics and famous bands that can be acquired very reasonably are why collectors are so excited about this fast growing hobby!
While MacLean was not one of the "Big Five" due to her not being the "right" sex to be a member of that club her artistic impact and appeal with collectors is less appreciated. Bonnie's recent passing made international news due to the worldwide appreciation of her artistic output. Postcards like this in top condition will always enjoy a growing level of demand as our hobby continues to mature and grow.
