A July 4th weekend music festival to remember! This LARGE specimen is the third and final Pre-Concert printing version of the 1970 Atlanta International Pop Festival Poster which includes the finalized band lineup. Another example of this exact issue hangs on display in The Georgia Rock & Roll Museum!
This famous event marked the end of the late sixties large-scale festival era. The one held the year prior showcased big names like Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin. This 2nd annual Pop Fest had memorable headliners as well including Jimi Hendrix and The Allman Brothers! It produced three live albums a Jimi Hendrix movie and one of the most sought after concert posters ever made.
CGC certification plays a major role in the successful acquisition of these Atlanta Pop relics. Over the years these posters have been reprinted and also bootlegged repeatedly. This example here is authenticated as an Original Pre-Concert printing with NO RESTORATION! It stands to reason that this opportunity may not present itself again for a very long time. Very few of these original specimens have survived the test of time in ANY condition. We have been auctioning posters for 13 years and this example is only the second we've seen pass through our doors!
