The Cult formed in 1983 in Bradford UK performing a mix of hard rock and heavy metal. Before settling on their current name in January 1984 the band performed under the name Death Cult which was an evolution of the name of lead singer Ian Astbury's previous band Southern Death Cult. This original poster promotes a 1995 concert at the legendary La Luna in Portland. This is the first time we’ve offered this Original Poster in our auction! It was produced for hanging on telephone poles record store windows ticket agencies and coffee houses around town.

Material from the pacific northwest is always considered special by collectors. They often tell a story all their own and have a different vibe than pieces from other parts of the country. It’s hard to believe this poster is over 25 years old. “Telephone pole fliers” like this are highly collectible and are notably representative of the music loving culture that produced them. This poster is in Superb Museum Quality with no visible flaws of any kind!
