For the FIRST time in our auction we are pleased to offer this historic Dead Family original poster. It was produced for Grateful Dead Lyricist Robert Hunter and the Ghosts performing at The Masonic Temple in Seattle Washington. The sad news of Hunter’s passing last year spread quickly through the music community and beyond. Wildflower seed in the sand and wind may the four winds blow you home again.
The Masonic Temple show was part of the release support of Hunter’s solo album “Tiger Rose” which featured cover art by Kelley and Mouse. The unknown artist of this Seattle poster re-created the cover art image on this bright Masonic Temple design with an obvious ‘home-made’ esthetic.
The Grateful Dead’s Keith & Donna Godchaux also performed. This concert took place during the Dead’s hiatus from touring although the band members would still gather together in small doses to work on their inspirational “Blues For Allah” record.
Tiger Rose was Hunter’s second solo album release on the Rounder Records label and the album was produced by Jerry Garcia. This concert relic from the late great Hunter’s Tiger Rose era is the very first of its kind we’ve ever auctioned and is certainly one you should not pass up. We can’t image there were many of these originally produced for this small capacity Seattle venue.
