Jazz trombonist and composer Tommy Dorsey was a big band legend during the 1940's. Unfortunately his life was cut short in 1956 when he died in his sleep just a few months after this concert at Centennial Terrace. His big brother and big band leader Jimmy Dorsey broke up his big band years prior in early 1953. Tommy invited him to join as a featured attraction for several tours until he passed away.
