For those who want it ALL! This lot represents one of the most unique INSIDER items we've ever had the pleasure of offering in our auction!

This is an original official Jerry Garcia Band business Check SIGNED by Jerry Garcia paid to the order of Steve Parish on August 22nd 1985! The official bank stamp on the reverse shows the check was deposited on September 10th 1985. On the front of the check the amount was for $430.75 written on check #844 in the register and a breakdown of amount notes to Parish in the memo section bottom left.

Steve Parish has been a primary member of the Grateful Dead family for decades. He first joined the band as a roadie in 1969 eventually taking on the role of Jerry Garcia’s trusted gear handler and the manager of the Jerry Garcia Band. Parish grew particularly close to Jerry and the two forged a close friendship over many years. Parish served as best man at Garcia’s wedding and spent hours by his bed in 1986 during Garcia’s coma. He was also the last friend to see Jerry before his untimely death in 1995. Parish is still good friends with Bob Weir and all of the post-Jerry Grateful Dead musical projects and family to this day.
