This beautiful original poster was produced for the FINAL SHOW at Armadillo World Headquarters on New Years Eve 1980!!!! Commander Cody headlined the celebration as well as the famous Armadillo's longest running “house” band Asleep At The Wheel.
The Armadillo opened in Austin just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It went on to become the premiere venue in that musically rich city from 1970-1980.
The legendary music club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10 year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere! This poster here has just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Texas material.
