This COLORFUL original cardboard poster from Ontario Canada is a real slice of history! Dunn's Pavilion now called "The KEE to Bala" is a concert venue and bar located on Lake Muskoka in the town of Bala Ontario Canada. Dunn's Pavilion was originally purchased by owner Gerry Dunn in 1929 and built into a concert hall in 1930 with the aim of hosting big bands. Big names continued to perform there through the years including Les Brown and the Fabulous Dorsey Brothers!
Here we have the GRAND OPENING (though technically the re-opening under new management in 1955) poster of the venue featuring Ozzie Williams and Woody Herman during July of 1955. Jazz clarinetist and composer Woody Herman was a big band legend during the 1940's and 1950's. He was known for hiring the best young musicians in the jazz scene and using their arrangements as a jumping off point for his recordings and workshops. His concerts were consistently spectacular. This piece is in great condition considering its age! NO TEARS OR PINHOLES!
