The Carousel Ballroom was a short-lived experiment by the San Francisco bands (namely the Dead and Airplane) to run a venue of their own. As one might have projected the venture was failure and the location was taken over by Bill Graham and reopened as the Fillmore West.
This unusual rendering by Stanley Mouse was for an open ended Tuesday Night Jam. Tuesday nights brought together whoever was available for an evening of musical improvisation at the Carousel.
