This large early Fleetwood Mac original poster was created by the legendary German designer Gunther Kieser who is best known for his 1969 Jimi Hendrix poster. Much like other issues by this renowned artist this piece is ENORMOUS in size measuring 33 1/16 x 46 3/4”. This poster also has important historical significance for marking the end of the “Peter Green Era” for the band.
The original blues-based lineup of Fleetwood Mac (with guitarist Peter Green) are featured on this huge subway-sized poster advertising a January 1970 concert at the Deutsches Museum in Munich Germany. The group brought to life the Peter Green song “Black Magic Woman” which Santana later covered to legendary popularity.
Peter Green left the band a few months after this show as a result of a strange encounter that took place while the band was in Munich. Green was met at the airport by members of a cult who lured him to their mansion in the nearby woods. He disappeared for three days and was getting "spiked or dosed with acid" bassist John McVie recalls. According to Mick Fleetwood “Peter was never the same again". After a final performance with the band a few months later Green left Fleetwood Mac and never returned.
