This is the FIRST APPEARANCE of this poster in our auction! The Heatwave music festival was held on August 23 1980 at Mosport Park in Toronto. It was known as the "New Wave Woodstock" and this original poster was produced to promote the event. Approximately 100 000 people attended the all day concert by the time the Talking Heads took the stage as the sun set. Also performing were The B-52's Elvis Costello The Pretenders and many more. The Clash were originally booked and appear listed on the poster but cancelled because of a border customs incident.
