This poster emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Texas material owned by a long time resident and participant of the Austin music scene!
The Vulcan Gas Company was responsible for a wonderful series of concert posters that are very scarce and beautiful. They were produced in very low quantities and are therefore extremely popular with collectors racing to acquire what little surviving examples of these issues surface!
This poster was designed by the amazing one and only Gilbert Shelton. Shelton was the art director for the Vulcan along with Jim Franklin of Armadillo World Headquarters fame. Shelton went on to become one of most well known underground Comix artists of all time. This VG-3 issue titled “The Heart” is only the second example of this issue from this series we have EVER auctioned with or without CGC grading and it's in the FINEST quality condition. Extremely SCARCE! Bid accordingly.
