This poster is signed & doodled in pencil by the artist Stanley Mouse!
Here we have a classic poster by Mouse & Kelley celebrating the first Anniversary of the birth of the Grateful Dead. According to Deadbase the first time the Dead played as such was on 12/4/65 in San Jose. This poster was made for an obscure venue called “The Old Cheese Factory” and it's a very early Mouse /Kelley /Grateful Dead collaboration. It was a marriage that would live on for decades.
This Superb Museum Quality treasure has no nicks cuts tears or pinholes! We have only offered this issue with CGC grading a small handful of times over the past 10+ years. In June 2017 a 9.4 graded example reached $1392 and in August 2018 another 9.6 graded specimen reached the high water mark of $1955 in our auction. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot.
