We are pleased to offer this LARGE original Traffic poster from the Terrace Ballroom! In late 1968 Traffic featuring Steve Winwood temporarily disbanded. Guitarist Dave Mason left the group and in 1969 Winwood joined the supergroup “Blind Faith”. Winwood and Traffic reunited in 1970 to release the critically acclaimed album “John Barleycorn Must Die” just weeks after this show at the Terrace which re-launched their career. Big Brother & The Holding Company also performed. By this time obviously Janis Joplin was no longer with the band. Big Brother played this night at the Terrace with their new lead singer Nick Gravenites.

Artist Rob Brown designed this beautiful image for this Salt Lake show. Brown did illustration work in YELLOW DOG COMICS #15 underground comix strip and several items for PROMETHEAN ENTERPRISES (An underground comic fanzine that featured the work of R. Crumb Rick Griffin Victor Moscoso Robert Williams Spain Rodriguez Rick Shubb Bob Zoell and others). In addition he created multiple front covers and strips for the Berkeley Barb (an infamous & notorious S.F. Bay Area underground newspaper in the late 60's). He is also noted for authoring & illustrating the incredible "Dragon World" full color children's book in 2005 featuring 68 paintings of unique Dragons of all sorts. You can "look inside" the DRAGON WORLD book to see all of Rob Brown's whimsical Dragon paintings by clicking here.

The company that promoted this Terrace Ballroom concert was later told by Disney Productions to "cease & desist" from using the unmistakable likeness of Mickey Mouse on their posters & promotions such as this one. There were only 1 000 copies of this original poster printed in the one & only print run prior to the June 29th concert date in 1970 which makes them extremely hard to find these days in ANY condition.

The LARGE size of this piece should also be noted. Of all the Terrace Ballroom SLC posters this is the only poster that was printed in this monster size. Original posters from this legendary venue are ALWAYS on collectors' hot list. This example here is SIGNED by the artist! More and more collectors are coming into the fold with the knowledge that artist signatures add a whole other dimension to their treasures. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot!
