AOR 2.157 OPC-A Steve Miller Band Original Postcard CGC 9.8 - The Ramlala group created a series of postcards for shows that they promoted at California Hall. This superb example was for a 1967 Steve Miller Blues Band performance at the venue. This is the very FIRST CGC graded example of this postcard to ever appear in our auction. Other may possibly surface down the road but none will be finer than one offered here and now!
AOR 2.150 OHB-A Blue Cheer Original Handbill CGC 6.0 - Only the second example of this handbill to appear in our auction. J Edgar Hoover the founder of the FBI was not likely to be one of the hero’s of residents of the Haight. Hoover was known for exceeding his authority at the FBI and spying on subversives and radicals in the 1960’s. This concert was billed as a tribute to the infamous figure at California Hall featuring San Francisco's own Blue Cheer: one the great unsung bands of the era. Their hard driving distorted sound was a major influence for future heavy metal and hard rock groups. Check out this great article about Blue Cheer. The consignor of this lot acquired this handbill directly from JERRY ABRAMS' collection (yes the S.F. Bay Area Sixties "HEADLIGHTS" light show artisan / creator).
