This is a collection of 3 items: Greg Irons ULTRA SCARCE 1971 1st Printing FOOD STAMP GOURMET & Greg Irons CHECKLIST Books. Greg Irons was one of the great-unsung heroes of the 1960’s psychedelic art scene. Irons was a master underground comix poster and tattoo artist. His style was perfect for each of those mediums. Here's a great article on Greg Irons & his internationally famous work as a Tattoo Artist.

COUNTERMEDIA Number 6 - Spring 1992 - FIRST / Only Printing  - 5 15/32" x 8 1/2" - Black printing on white paper - 68 pages - Front cover features: "YOU CALL THIS ART?" (lettering & illustration by the late infamously great FILLMORE & AVALON BALLROOM as well as other Bay Area venues concert poster & underground comix artist GREG IRONS) - GREG IRONS / AN APPRECIATION by Phillippe Anouilh - GREG IRONS CHECKLIST by Richard Arzaga - GETTING GRIFFIN "The Final Chapter" by Denis Wheary - THE LAST DAYS OF THE GREAT BASIL WOLVERTON by Barry Bernard - DEAD CARTOONISTS SOCIETY by Patrick Rosencranz - Extremely light stain on front cover (hard to see in dim lighting) - Published in Portland Oregon by a small press publisher Sleeping Dogs Press (Charlie Boucher a renowned R. Crumb afficionado / collector & former owner of the infamous CounterMedia bookstore in Portland etc.) in a VERY small print run with EXTREMELY limited distribution - A major GREG IRONS full color book appeared years after this publication reiterating the same "YOU CALL THIS ART?" title - Minor light stain on front cover to the left of the illustration mostly in the white background area (magnify the hi-res photo) - Ultra Mega Rare - Nice PAE Graded Near Mint “89”.

Brown - 1971 FIRST Edition / FIRST Printing (GREG IRONS Illustration on back cover does not include ad for Dana Crumb's "Eat it" cook book blurb on front cover is "Patrician Eating on a Proletarian Diet" etc. etc.) - Quality Paperbound book published in 1971  by Bellerophon Books (S.F.) - Front cover by Gilbert Shelton features "Fat Freddy" from "The Furry Freak Bros." - 52 pages (including covers) - A plethora of illustrations by the late notoriously great GREG IRONS (thirty seven (37) including inside front cover inside back cover and back cover) as well as GILBERT SHELTON (six (6) including the(front cover and interior illustrations) & the late DAVE SHERIDAN (four (4) B&W interior illustrations) - An average of one solid black & white illustration per page - The book describes how to cook cheaply as well as how to learn imaginative cooking - Thick stiff card stock covers - 8 1/2" x 10 61/64" - Thick cover has some handling bends (magnify hi-res photo) - Low print run & very limited distribution since it was published by a small press publisher 1st printings of this obscure book are QUICKLY becoming WAAYYY scarcer!  - Great shape! PAE Graded Near Mint “89”.
