This vintage poster was produced for a benefit for the La Raza Defense Fund by the Youth International Party at San Francisco's California Hall featuring the American Yippie revolutionary Abbie Hoffman. Author of “Steal This Book” Abbie Hoffman was founder of the Youth International Party an avid social activist and public speaker. Two years prior at the 1968 Democratic National Convention violent protests broke out and Hoffman was one of eight people charged with conspiracy and inciting to riot. His verdict was eventually overturned and he continued his activism into the 1970’s. He remains a strong icon of the American anti-war movement era.
