This ultra scarce original program is from Bob Dylan's first Australian run of concerts during his massive 1966 world tour! This piece is certainly something worthy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The shows in mid-April included Sydney Stadium Brisbane Festival Hall Melbourne Hall Adelaide Palais Theatre and the Perth Capitol Theatre. This 12 page program is one of his best ever with photos articles and Dylan's "My Life In A Stolen Moment" essay.
This tour has UNSURPASSED HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE as it was Bob Dylan’s FIRST appearance in Australia. All the concerts during this tour contained electric sets similar to what Dylan shocked fans with at Newpport the year prior. The musicians Dylan employed as his backing band during the 1966 tour were known as "Levon and The Hawks". They subsequently became famous as THE BAND soonafter! The only exception was Levon Helm who was replaced during the US leg of the world tour by former Johnny Rivers drummer Mickey Jones. Jones remained with the band throughout the rest of the tour including Australia. What a wonderful way to own a piece of music history and share in the excitement of these history making events!
