Here we have an early R.E.M. original handbill designed by Detroit's Gary Grimshaw and appearing in our auction for the very first time! This 1983 handbill was produced for a concert at Saint Andrew's Hall just a couple months after this legendary band released their debut full-length album “Murmur” on the I.R.S. Record label. The album was critically acclaimed and through the support of college radio the band’s career was launched and continued to grow through the 80’s. Much of their early promotional material like this piece is highly sought after by fans and collectors. This handbill is in stunning museum quality condition with only super light toning / foxing holding it back from an absolutely perfect grade!
