Vintage and Original Grateful Dead history! Some of you might be thinking: "Yeah I've been collecting for decades and I pretty much have it all". Well chances are you do not already have what's shown here. This is a 1979 press kit from Arista Records produced a few months after keyboardist Brent Mydland joined the group. During the summer the Dead began recording material in the studio for their forthcoming album "Go To Heaven" released the following year.

This lot includes an original 8" x 10" Arista publicity photo and two original Biography and band history 8 1/2" x 11" packets with Arista Records letterhead both stapled in the upper left corner. After "Terrapin Station" and "Shakedown St" The Dead were contractually obligated to record another studio album for Arista before they could release live material. This was a very interesting era for the band and a short preface to the historic Warfield & Radio City acoustic runs 12 months later. A Grateful Dead collector's treasure trove for sure!
