This is the FIRST CGC graded example of this original DOUBLE SIDED Vulcan Gas Company handbill to appear in our auction! This bright & colorful handbill features Jimmy Vaughan (Stevie Ray's older brother) and Texas appearing with Sunnyland Special during a Halloween run at the Vulcan. The artwork was designed by John Shelton (no relation to Gilbert) who did a healthy amount of work for the venue in 1969. The design on the reverse side of this handbill was created by noted Austin artist Jim Franklin. Material for the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin Texas is some of the most desirable and valuable in the entire genre of Psychedelic Concert art. Very few of these unique and fragile handbills remain available today in ANY condition! We may not see this one again for a long time.
