This historic 9.8 poster is the FINEST QUALITY CONDITION CGC Graded example of this Original First Printing issue to appear in our auction! PRISTINE!

The BG-69 marked the first appearance by Jimi Hendrix at the Fillmore. Bill Graham scheduled the groundbreaking guitarist as third on the bill. This would be Hendrix’s first public appearance after blowing away the audience at the Monterey Pop Festival just three days earlier. The promoter took serious heat for his lack of vision so the next time Hendrix played the Fillmore Graham made up for his error by commissioning Rick Griffin to create the most famous Fillmore poster ever – the BG 105.

This original first printing poster ALWAYS gets special attention when it surfaces! In March 2018 a much lesser graded 6.5 example realized $1036 in our auction. This info gives us clues about where this Hendrix poster lives within the world of this exciting marketplace. In any other collectibles market this 9.8 poster would be worth many multiples of the previously sold 6.5 example. It will be interesting to see what premium the market attaches to this superior 9.8 museum quality example now!
