The FD-5 First Printing Poster is one of the most popular issues in the Family Dog series for several reasons. First this piece has tremendous historical significance as it is the very first Family Dog concert held at the Avalon Ballroom. Second this is the first Family Dog poster to feature the Family Dog slogan “May the baby Jesus shut your mouth and open your mind.” Last and certainly not least this beautiful Wes Wilson design is truly sensational and looks great “on the wall”.
We’ve tracked this issue at auction for a number of years and it always commands exciting bidding when it appears in the museum quality condition seen here. A specimen called Mint but not signed or certified by CGC brought $3231 on 5/22/14 in another public auction. In December 2016 a CGC graded 9.6 example realized $4612 in our auction but it wasn't signed. This virtually perfect SIGNED example is sure to become the highlight of any collection it is added to.
