PAE is pleased to present the very FIRST CGC graded specimen of this poster to EVER appear at public auction!

When Family Dog was no longer doing shows at the Avalon Ballroom Soundproof Productions began producing a series of concerts at the venue in January 1969. Soundproof enlisted the talents of Rick Griffin for the poster art. This partnership left thee incredible piece of Griffin artwork to collectors. The most noteworthy was the art for a Grateful Dead concert which ended up being used as the cover for the bands third album Aoxomoxoa - but there were two other wonderful Griffin posters that are sleepers for collectors - THIS being one of them. This beautiful poster was for a performance of Van Morrison at the Avalon. The large text in the body of the poster is unintelligible Griffin style lettering.
