When it comes to music memorabilia most experts agree that there is The Beatles...and then everyone else. This original concert handbill was produced for the Beatles performance on August 21 1966 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis Missouri. The band played an eleven song set to over 23 000 screaming fans.
The concert was the second of the day with the band having played in Cincinnati earlier that afternoon due to the concert at Crosley Field being rained out the night before. It was also toward the end of their 1966 final tour and the band only played 4 more locations before hanging it up for good. This concert was held just weeks after the release of “Revolver” and it was clear that the band was taking an exciting new direction with their recordings. It cannot be overstated how IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND this handbill is. Just a tiny handful ( 3-6 ) are known to exist in ANY condition and this is by far the finest we have ever seen or heard about.
Of course this is also the very FIRST specimen to appear in our auction.
Determining value is almost impossible. Just 2 specimens are known of the poster to this event and the poster is easily a $40 000 - $60 000 item.
